Romantica Saturday, April 13, 2019 – 8:00 PM

Calvin Presbyterian Church, 26 Delisle Ave, Toronto, ON

Our spring concert will feature a selection of popular romantic and works under the baton of guest conductor Oliver Balabursky. The first half will include a set of three romantic overtures: Johann Strauss' II overture from “Die Fledermaus” (The Bat), Sibelius' “Finlandia” and Mussorgsky's “Night on the Bald Mountain”. The second half will present Brahms' Symphony No. 1 in C min. The two challenging parts of the program are expected to appeal to both our audiences and the musicians. Every season the orchestra performs a major symphonic work. This year we've chosen Brahms' most known work who's also considered a staple of the romantic repertoire.
